To Sir With Love - Change Change: Man's ability to adapt his thinking In the novel To Sir With Love various human characteristics are portrayed. Of these, the idea that humans are able to adapt and change their way of thinking seems to be demonstrated throughout the story. In the novel, both the teacher, Braithewaite, and his students end up going through many changes that ultimately result in their coming to change their way of thinking about each other. In life, as in this fictionalized account, the ability to adapt to the world around one's self is a very important trait. In my own life, this has occured on many occasions. Thus, it can be said that to be able to change and adapt ourselves and our ways at looking at things to our to our situations we are truly at advantage. In the story, Braithewaite begins with a set of preconceived ideas about his students. He expects them to be unintelligent, rough, racially intolerant children with no future-hardly deserving of his respect. But, as he sees later, they are are the total opposites of his of his initial ideas. This is gradually shown through their actions, such as such as the students all going to visit the house of their black friend during his crisis, or their learning to treat each other with respect;they learned to address each other as their last names, inthe case of the boys, and "Miss", for the girls. For the students,they learned to respect and really learn from their teacher,something they had never cared to do before. Braithewaite helped them to break out of the the pattern of intolerance and roughness that society had placed them in. They began to respect themselves and then to respect others. In short, it was obvious that both the teacher and his students were able to adapt their way of thinking to their advantage;they did not get stuck in their original set of preconceived notions about each other. This is a key point of the novel, this idea that people can change their ways. In my own experiences, I have ended up changing my ways as I have become wiser. One example would be my relationship with my older sister. As a child, I constantly fought with her over everything and never tried tried to get to understand her. Gradually, though, as I grew older, I learned to accept and to understand her. Now, though we still argue about a lot of things, I feel my relationship with her has improved and I am beginning to understand her. This has taken a complete change in my way of looking at her;I now look at her as a nice person with much to offer me, rather than as my evil sister.This has been a true example of my being able to change my way of thinking towards an individual. The concept of man being able to alter his ways is a crucial element to his living in a society such as ours. All of us must learn to accept individual hardships, and all of us must be able to adapt to our ever-changing world. World leaders must adjust their way of thinking about an evolving third world country, or a growing superpower. An employee must adapt to be able to perform his job adequetly. All of us have had to gradually adapt in order to live together as a relatively cohesive, well ordered society. It is clear that nothing remains constant in our world of change except change itself. It is our ability to learn and to adapt our ways that has brought humans as far forward as they are today. As a species, we have gone from living as naked savages to relatively living as relatively civilized individuals. This would never have been possible had it not been for our ability to change our ways of thinking. For humans, then, it is our ability to change that has put us where we are today and is our key to further advancement, both as societies and as people.

The group in the definition could be an organization or business. The word moral is defined as pertaining to, or concerned with theà principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong. (Dictionary. com, 2011) An employee of a corporation oftentimes is faced with making a decision that causes them to examine their ethical or moral judgment in executing their decisions.In this paper, we examine the differences between ethical and moral issues and the differences between personal and business ethics. We also provide real world examples of common ethical problems in business. The difference between ethical and moral issues is as simple as the difference between right and wrong. The major difference between ethics and moral issue is the authority that governs the decision. Business ethical guidelines are set by the management of the business. Moral guidelines are self-imposed and learned behaviors from parents, associates and religious background.A business owner and the governmental entity where that business resides have the right to determine the business ethics of the corporation. However, the moral issues are decisions that are made by the individual employee based on his or her personal experience. For example, a manager of a restaurant may be faced with an ethical and moral dilemma when a person who is hungry with no money requests a free meal. As a company employee, it would be unethical for him or her to give away free food. However, as a fellow human being who has sympathy for mankind, his moral being may want to give the person a free meal.Personal and business ethics are two different areas. Trevino and Nelson (2007), defines ethics as- the principles, norms, and standards of conduct governing an indiv idual or group- focuses on conduct. While both deal with right and wrong, a personââ¬â¢s personal ethics deals with what he or she personally believes to be right or wrong. A personââ¬â¢s business ethics are dictated by a corporationââ¬â¢s management. While the individual may believe it is right to do something, the companyââ¬â¢s ethics policy may prevent him or her from acting on their personal ethics.For instance, a financial advisor has to have a client sign and initial several forms. After returning to the office and reviewing the forms, the financial advisor notices that the client inadvertently missed a spot where they should have initialed. It would be a business ethics violation for the financial advisor to initial the form on behalf of the client. For the financial advisor, it may not be against his personal ethics to initial the form, because the client more than likely would have initialed the form. However, as an agent of the business, the financial advisor m ust follow the guidelines of the businessââ¬â¢ ethical policy.Although there is a thin line between ethics and morality, the difference is between business and personal. Personally, an individual has a right to decide for themselves what is right and wrong. However, as an employee of a company, when there is a dilemma between personal and business ethics then the ethical guidelines of the corporation should prevail. If an individual feels strongly against a companyââ¬â¢s business ethics, then he or she will have to determine if they want to continue to work for that organization because it is unlikely that management will change the ethics of the business.Someone who has strong personal ethical and moral values would probably be better off starting their own business and creating their own business ethics policies.

Further, the construction of the plan ensured that there was no any other distraction. In its entirety, there was a considerable revelation that most of the students were supportive to each other and cooperative to each other throughout the lessons. The students became more organized in class and were no longer disruptive, which was a good indicator that the plan perfectly supported their objectives. Classroom rules and objectives were adhered to consistently among the students. This was perfectly because the manner in which the plan was organized reinforced acceptable behavior and did not give room to disorganization among the students. The learning goals were well achieved throughout the process of administration of the lessons in line with the lesson plan. A number of issues were gathered in the process that had a bearing with the success of the plan. For the first time, it was evident that the students knew their roles in the class. The students were able to give responses that were relevant to the question that was asked. Though this was not a proof that their answers were right, it provided indicators that they understood the concepts that were taught. Examples that they gave resonated with the lesson plan. There are a few changes that would be important if observed. The first thing that I believe should be rectified is the selective use of software in the lesson plan administration. There is a need to integrate software in almost the entire spectrum of learning. Secondly, considering that the plan focuses on the students with special need, there is a need to incorporate psychological approaches in the process. This would be able to systematically assist the children without getting to the risk of engaging additional resources.
